Introducing Jesus: A Study of the Gospel of Mark
Introducing Jesus: A Study of the Gospel of Mark
Introducing Jesus: A Study of the Gospel of Mark, by Jeremy Myers
The Gospel of Mark is a short story. It is full of the actions of Jesus and how people responded to Him. Mark knows that if you would just hear all Jesus did, you would come to know Him, believe in Him, and follow Him as Lord. So, his task is to introduce us to this Jesus.
The Jesus we meet in Mark’s Gospel is unexpected, as He was to the people of His day. Through Jesus, we are shown that people are valuable to God and worth restoring, leading, and investing in. Jesus shows us how close God wants to be to us despite how far away some of us might seem. He is the hand of God extended in friendship and unity. Jesus is our connection to the Father, and when we come to Him in Jesus’s name, it is there we will find life. It is why we were introduced.
